Foreword
The Language Development and Development Agency, through the Center for Linguistic Strategy and Diplomacy Development (PPSDK), plays an important role in the enhancement of the function of Indonesian language into international language. This important role is realized, among others, by supporting the teaching of Indonesian for foreign speakers (BIPA) in various countries. One such support is the preparation of BIPA teaching materials in the form of Sahabatku Indonesia books in six levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. This book is a teaching material for the A1 level.
Learning materials and assignments are developed based on text so that learners can develop integrated competencies in their four languages: listening, speaking, reading, and writing various types of texts. In addition, integrated learning materials and assignments are designed to develop Indonesian-ness insights. For evaluation purposes, each unit is equipped with a structured task in the form of exercises.
The completion of the A1 book is inseparable from the help of various parties, especially the resource persons and compilers of the manuscript, namely Nita Novianti and lyen Nurlaelawati. Our gratitude also goes to fellow BIPA activists from the Language Development and Coaching Agency as well as Indonesian Language Teaching Affiliates and Activists for Foreign Speakers (APPBIPA) who were present at the BIPA teaching material verification event and could not be mentioned individually for valuable input.
For improvement of this book It is our hope that this book can be useful for BIPA instructors in various countries and can be used as a reference for foreign nationals who want to learn to master Indonesian to communicate and make closer friends with Indonesian citizens.
The writing of this textbook still needs further refinement. For this reason, we are very grateful if the reader can provide input for improving.
